The father who was a labourer by profession was in the Thelwatte town as the waves struck. The fearsome waves that devastated Thelwatte destroyed everything in its path and the father was one of the many poor souls who were simply swept away leaving his wife and children destitute and having to fend for themselves. This family is in desperate need of assistance establish a permanent source of income.
