The Tsunami was doubly harsh on this family. The waves not only took the life of the father but also their only son leaving the mother alone to face life with only her daughters. The sad part is that both the father and brother could have escaped but chose to stay back and help others in the village and whilst they succeeded in saving a couple of lives – they lost their own. The family now lives in fear that their house – already battered by the waves would come down on top of them and desperately need assistance in repairing the cracked walls.

• The house partially damaged by the tidal wave
• The house location is out of the now prohibited 100m range
• The support required is to re-build the damaged area of the house and build a toilet
• Mother has capability to make coir ropes
• Income generating project requested is initial stock of coir and equipment
• Minimum basic furniture and kitchen utensils needs also be provided.
